About This Blog

The Baltimore Food Chronicle is my personal archive of food finds, culinary adventures and gustatory transduction in and around Baltimore.  It is not my intent to review food, chefs or restaurants, but rather to highlight delicious and beautiful cuisines unique to our locale.  I highly recommend Yelp.com or any of the several Baltimore based food blogs for reviews and critiques.  I’m just out here trying to find extraordinary food, document my discoveries and present them to you.

It wasn’t until I watched an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” where Guy Fieri introduces viewers to “Pit Beef” that it dawned on me that many of the foods that I had grown up loving, are largely unknown to the rest of the world.  Bewildered, I began to treasure Baltimore Food Culture such as steamed Blue Crabs (with Old Bay of course), Pit Beef, Lake Trout, Chicken Box, Berger Cookies, Lemon Peppermint Sticks and Natty Boh.  Living in Southern California at the time, I also found great love in seeking out local taste treasures, and tremendous insight to the characteristic peoples and communities that born these foods.  Now back home after nine years away, I am rediscovering childhood treats, reconnecting with food favorites, and constantly searching for the next great find.

When I’m not out taking my wife or kids along to try out great food, you can find me teaching or training in Filipino Martial Arts, relaxing and spending time with my family or working as a Registered Nurse in Baltimore City.
